Work in Ekerö Municipality
Do you want to make a difference for people who need support?
At the guardianship authority, you will have a meaningful job where you contribute to safeguarding the legal rights of individuals who cannot assert their rights themselves.
From July 1, 2026, new legislation will come into force, which among other things means that the guardianship authority will take over certain decision-making from the courts and that the requirements for our supervision will be tightened. This makes our mission even more significant, and we now need to strengthen our team with a new colleague.
The guardianship authority is a municipal supervisory authority tasked with investigating the need for guardians, curators, and custodians, as well as supervising the activities of representatives. The supervision covers approximately 300 personal cases. You will be part of a small group with extensive experience and a strong commitment to our issues.
About the role
As a guardianship officer, you will work with administrative authority towards individuals. The work is both independent and collaborative. You will have close contact with colleagues, representatives, authorities, and other stakeholders.
Your tasks will include:
- Processing cases regarding guardianship, curatorship, and custody
- Investigations and statements to the court
- Decisions on permit issues
- Reviewing accounting documents
- Registration and filing of public documents
- Recruitment and training of guardians, curators, and custodians
- Development and improvement work
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Academic education in law, social work (social worker or equivalent), economics, or other relevant education
- Knowledge of laws and regulations within public operations
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
We also hope that you meet the following qualifications:
- Knowledge in family law, inheritance law, or social law
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who is unpretentious, engaged, and has the ability to make objective and factual decisions. With open, clear, and attentive communication, you build trust and are happy to share your knowledge. You are meticulous, have a sense of legal security, and enjoy working both independently and collaboratively.
Why choose us?
You will become part of a small, close-knit team with extensive experience and a strong commitment to our mission. We are not only looking for the right competence; we are looking for someone who complements us and wants to contribute with more perspectives to our operations. We look forward to welcoming another colleague as we embark on the upcoming development.
Start date: May 2026 or by agreement
Extent: Full-time
Employment type: Permanent
We look forward to your application
